Training
Education is an integral part of implementing a successful sustainability program. Whether you need training for senior executives, your entire staff, your sales team, or just your green team, we offer interactive, customized training workshops on a variety of topics in a way that suits your learning style. We customize each training workshop to suit your organization’s policies and your existing knowledge level of these topics. Examples of past training sessions include:
•Setting up a Sustainability Program: How to most efficiently and effectively set up the program, including determining and prioritizing key sustainability targets, getting key stakeholder support, performing a gap analysis, and measuring progress.
•Sustainability 101: How to define sustainability within the context of your industry and your organization.
•Greening Your Office: A look at paper use, energy use, procurement, and everyday office processes that can be made more sustainable.
•Greening Your Waste: Reducing, reusing and recycling - entails a tour and discussion about how to set up or enhance recycling programs, how to set up a compostables collection program, how to reduce waste at the source, and how to educate employees regarding proper sorting. Additionally, we offer assistance for a “green day” at your location to launch new programs for collecting recyclables and compostables.
•Global Climate Change: A discussion of what climate change is (and isn’t), what it means to your organization, and ways to address it.
•Selling Green, Level 1: Designed to help sales and marketing teams become familiar with sustainability concepts & terminology.
•Selling Green, Level 2: A targeted approach to selling “green” solutions, approaching decision makers, and overcoming objections. Allows sales team to effectively assess purchase behavior Builds on knowledge gained in Level 1 training.
•LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design): Thinking about certifying your new building, existing building or commercial interior to the LEED standard? Our LEED AP (Accredited Professional) staff can help you navigate the standard, understand which portions apply to you, and train your staff on how to implement LEED. We also partner with various LEED professionals (architects, engineers, etc.) for this course, depending on your needs.
•Supply Chain Management: A training session aimed at “greening” your supply chain through designing a data collection system and decision-making process for suppliers. This facilitated session is designed primarily for internal procurement agents, with an optional session for your suppliers.
•Global Reporting Initiative: A facilitated training session encompassing the concepts and terminology associated with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), as well as methods to employ this reporting framework within your organization. More in-depth sessions designed to facilitate data gathering and reporting processes associated with GRI are also offered.
